AL HUDA MOSQUE

Al-Huda Cultural Centre & Mosque is situated on Mile End Road in East London. Located in the Tower Hamlets borough – one of the most deprived in the country with high levels of unemployment – the project aims to support the needs of not only a diverse, multi-cultural Muslim community, but to also serve the wider public and create a positive impact on its local context.

The client approached CDL with the vision of providing new space and facilities for the local Muslim community, as well as a school for the teaching of Quran and Islamic Studies for young people. Furthermore the project aims to provide funding and support for the establishment of Somali women’s organisations, and facilities for employment, training and language support for all adult members of the community.
