JAMI MASJID & ISLAMIC CENTRE – DARTMOUTH STREET

The Jami Masjid & Islamic Centre is a mosque started by the local Bangladeshi community to serve the wider muslim and non-muslim community. The proposal seeks to make use of a currently empty plot adjacent to the existing mosque, and erect a new mosque equipped with educational facilities, community event space, a new larger prayer hall and a mortuary.

Using modern forms and invoking traditional Islamic design through the use of arches and screens, the mosque is a fusion of different styles creating a unique and stand-out statement to the area.
